A Senator in action

But what exactly does a senator do?  A typical day for a senator is a mixture of events, ranging from sitting in Committee, debating in the Chamber to meeting one on one with individual Canadians or representatives from various organizations.  You will also find senators in places beyond Ottawa, traveling with a committee or acting as ambassadors for initiatives such as trade agreements, democracy building or global environmental matters.

A Parliamentary Pumpkin

Senator Harb has been involved in the Annual Celebrity-Carved Pumpkin Contest run by Children at Risk in Ottawa for many years.  Here are the latest pumpkins carved by the Harb team to help raise funds for children with autism.
